This image was originally a fun piece that I had to do after a night out in New Orleans and noticing how done one of the bartenders was at the end of the shift. There is a mirror behind the bartender that shows all of the antics in front of him.
The woman in the red dress is asking for 'One more drink Please!' and the bartender has the look of 'One more drink!?....Please! Yall don't need no more!!' So it's a play on the context of how something is said and the perspective it's coming from.
This piece took on a life of it's own and became a commission when the couple in the middle, Cindy and Bryan, saw me working on it at Jazzfest in 2011 and fell in love with it. They bought it unfinished with one request, adding them into the painting. From there I added so many subtle images throughout the piece that tell the story of how they met here in New Orleans and fell in love with the city and each other. This was an interesting piece to see evolve into a wonderful story line of love.
As always giclees can be reworked, so if you and someone else special are interested in being in this painting as well, I can paint you right into a giclee
